Burton-4 months!

Burton is 4 months old!  Mommy can't believe it!  You are the cutest little meatball I have ever seen.  Nothing cuter than a little roly poly of a baby.  

Burton here are your stats at 4 months: 

Weight: 15 pounds, 15 ounces (75%)

Length: 26.5 inches (90%)

Head circumference: 50%- can't remember the number 

Sleep: we went through a little sleep regression after Mommy had her appendectomy.  Yup, you read that right. It was very untimely (when are unplanned surgeries ever convenient) but nonetheless Mommy is fine and you are now back on your normal sleep schedule.  You go to bed between 9:30-10 and sleep until about 7AM. You just moved out of the rock n play to your crib last week.

Likes: being talked and sung to, taking a bath, rocking with mommy to sleep, and you love it when sister gives you attention.  

Dislikes: you despise your car seat and you go nuclear when you get overtired 

Eating: you still nurse every 2.5-3 hours during the day.  At this point with sister we started rice cereal, but you've got plenty of fat on you so we are going to hold off a little longer. ;)

Diaper size: 3

Clothes size: anywhere from 3-9 month stuff 

Hair color: dirty blonde/light brown, but we still have people ask if there is red in it when you are in the sun

Eye color: blue

Milestones: you have rolled from your tummy to your back and look like you are getting close to rolling back to front.  You are grabbing at all sorts of toys, and just discovered your feet in the last week.

We love you Burton buckaroo!  You have brought so much joy into our house.  I feel as if I grew a whole new heart just for you!  Daddy and I are so thankful for you!

Flower Girl

Avery made her first appearance as a flower girl in our dear friend Katherine's wedding a few weeks ago.  Katherine was my little sister in Pi Delta at Lipscomb.  The main reason I so badly wanted Katherine as my "little" was because M had known Katherine since she was born, and as Katherine said to us the night of her rehearsal dinner, "you were like the big brother I never had."  So when Katherine asked Avery to be a flower girl in her wedding, we were incredibly honored!  Such a joy to be able to celebrate such occasions with lifelong friends.  Katherine is so very special to us both, and we are so happy that she has found Ben!  

On another note, Avery kept referring to the event as "my wedding" and that she was going to wear "my white wedding dress."  The day of the wedding when she put the dress on she looked in the mirror and said with amazement, "I look so beautiful!"  We are not short on self confidence ;). Aimee, my college roommate, is Katherine's other big sister.  Our family tree has a blonde hair requirement.
