Family of 4

Most everyone knows, but we are expecting baby H #2 due in February!  I am currently 17 weeks, so we will know what we are having in about 3 weeks time.

Family of four... that sounds so legit.  It seems as though adding one more to our family makes us a true "Family Unit" as if we have just been playing house for the last 2+ years.  I remember being a family of four with my own parents (before Buddy came along).  I was the child that made my parents become a family of four...how weird.  Family of four means sibling play time, crazy family vacations, getting a much needed bigger car (say no to the mini van!), and matching sibling clothes (I cannot wait!).  I have such wonderful memories of playing outside for hours with my own sister, sharing clothes, making up ridiculous games and forcing our parents to participate, and of course bickering as teenagers :).  Now my sister is my best friend and there is rarely a day that goes by that I don't talk to her.  I want my kids to have those sweet memories too.

Anyway, we are elated and cannot wait for this next bundle to join our family.  Avery is adamant that this baby is in fact a baby sister.  I have asked her numerous times if the baby in Mommy's tummy is a baby brother or baby sister, to which she always replies "baby sister!"  When I say, "but it could be a baby brother and he would be so sweet", she will reply, "No Mommy, don't think so!".  When I ask her with the baby names which one is in Mommy's tummy, she will without fail say the girl name.  Either she will turn out to be a great baby gender predictor or be sorely disappointed for a minute or two.  She LOVES babies no matter what, so I think she will be fine either way ;)

More fun coming our way!

I know that no one else really cares about comparing, but I was curious to see if I was carrying similarly to the way I did with Avery...

7 weeks with Avery and Baby #2
13 weeks comparison
17 weeks comparison.  This was the best I could do with Baby #2 pic wise, M had left for work, and I was headed to clinic.

Smith Vacation 2014

Here are the pictures from our beach vacation with my family...which was a month ago! Whoops. No time to do more than really leave you with the pictures, I am also trying to listen to a YouTube lecture for school on billing and coding...yawn fest.

Wish we had been able to spend more than just a few days this year at the beach with my family. Such is life these days.  Enjoy the pics!

Dad has really gotten into frying things of late... Apparently this started while he was working the kitchen up at church camp this year.  Not only did we enjoy homemade fried catfish and hush puppies (which were phenomenal!), we also had these little beauties...fried oreos!

My bro took some pics for us while we were there!  Wanted to share a few.  Thought he did a great job!

Summer Catch Up!

Whew.  This summer has been CRAZY!  Pardon my prolonged absence from the blogosphere.  I will admit I have enjoyed the break.  But, since I don't have school for the next 2 weeks, I don't really have a valid excuse.  While taking a break from cleaning today on the couch (watching a documentary on the English Monarchy on Netflix), I spotted my computer pushed between the couch cushions and knew it was taunting me :)

So here is a little catch up with pictures.  More posts soon with pictures from our beach vacations...We are about to embark on an even crazier/busier fall.  If it is even possible!

Night out with the Moecks!

Harpeth Hills VBS in June.  Avery LOVED it.

Celebrating Buddy's Birthday
Avery's favorite person on the planet, her Aunt Addie (as she calls her).  They are two peas in a pod.
Father's Day
Zoo Day with McNeill and Thomas (although not pictured :)
Avery getting to see a real live Elsa.  As you can tell, she was enthralled!
Elizabeth and Avery :)
We were glad our precious friends the Elliotts stopped by for the night on their way to the beach!
Sunday night dinners at the Guesses
Fishing with Daddy at the Moeck Compound near Montevallo.
Sammy's 4th birthday party!  Forgot to get an actual pic with the birthday boy, shame!
Swimming on the 4th
Just hanging out with Campbell at Blake and Holly Beth's house
More Sunday night dinners with the Guesses.  Watching a movie with Thomas this time :)
Zoo and Splash Pad day with the cousins.
First haircut!
We celebrated with a cupcake!
First dentist appointment.  Avery was a rock star!
As you can see, we are continually blessed here in Alabama.  Although busy and hectic, we wouldn't trade our life here for anything!  And now that it is nearing the fall, can I get a "Go Cats" and "Roll Tide"?  We are only a few weeks out!

Memorial Day Weekend

We were busy little bees Memorial Day Weekend! First going up to Nashville on Friday night so that we could see Russ and Heather's newest addition to the family on Saturday morning.  Stella Jean is one sweet baby girl!

After that, we hit the road to Memphis to go visit my grandparents, whom we had not seen since Christmas!  Saturday we spent a fairly lazy day visiting and playing with Avery, topped off with some delicious Memphis BBQ.  Sunday was church and lunch, plus a special celebration Sunday night at Mimi and Papaw's church celebrating veterans.  We were treated to a special service, dinner, singing, and the most desserts I have ever seen at any church function in my entire life.  After it was over, Avery kept saying, "party back?"  We woke up early Monday morning, and after Mimi cooked breakfast we hopped in the car to head home.  We finished the night off swimming at Ed and Shawn's house with a dinner of ribs and bbq chicken!  Great weekend!  We are now back to the grind.  M and I find ourselves most nights with me studying and him working.  It never ends! :)

She got attached to Mimi while we were there.  The attachment runs in the family...
Did not want to leave her Mimi.
