After M's family left, we set out on our 3 week tour of the Southeast. Our first stops were Memphis and Columbia so that Avery could meet both sets of great-grandparents. Leaving Houston, we headed northeast towards Memphis, stopping halfway in Texarkana. Spent the night and arrived in Memphis Monday just in time for lunch. I had not seen my grandparents since October! Way too long; obviously living in Houston makes it extremely difficult to be able to see them, and we didn't have enough time off at Christmas to visit them like we normally do..hopefully that is not the case this year.

We had a couple of fun, relaxing days in Memphis; full of good food (Memphis BBQ and Mimi's chocolate pie). I hated to leave, and definitely drove away in tears. Hate that I don't know when I will get to see them again.
Next up, we headed to Columbia to see M's grandparents, Grandma and Grand Daddy Wayne. Of course, the trend of good food continued with Grandma Eva's delicious cooking, including some veggies grown right out in the backyard. Avery even got to go to Happy Acre's for the first time!

We were very proud to show off our baby girl to our grandparents. We only wish we lived closer so that she could be around them more frequently. Hopefully someday! Next post: our couple of days in Nashville, Decatur, and Birmingham!
